Editorial Policy

How we research, write, update and correct our articles.

How we choose sources

We rely on peer-reviewed research, veterinary school resources, and guidelines from bodies such as the AVMA, WSAVA, AAHA and AVSAB. We do not cite pet-food brands, forums or other blogs as evidence. Where we have had to rely on a summary of a study instead of the original paper, we aim to replace it with the original.

Veterinary review

Our health articles have been reviewed by a licensed veterinarian. At the reviewer’s request, we do not name them. Review does not replace advice from your own vet about your own dog.

Keeping content current

We re-check our articles against their sources regularly, and update them when guidelines change.

No dosing, no diagnosis

We never provide drug doses or attempt to diagnose individual animals. Our content is educational and is not a substitute for advice from your own veterinarian.

Independence

Affiliate links and advertising never influence medical content. See our affiliate disclosure.
